5k walk/run road race
We are organizing our third annual 5K road race to kick off “Seabrook Old Home Days”, on Sunday, August 10th, 2014. Our goal is to bring awareness to the residents about the benefits of having a recreational rail trail that connects with other nearby towns and to raise funds to help us accomplish that. Our event last year had well over 200 runners & walkers! Runners from all over New England and a few from around the nation enjoyed the course across Seabrook's salt marsh and on our shaded lanes & back roads. Donors' provided watermelon, bananas & drinks at the finish line, upbeat music and raffle prizes that all entrants were eligible for. It was very festive atmosphere and many runners said it was a well organized event and that they would definitely enter again! Our goal in organizing this event is to create a high-quality race, which will grow each year. The race will be professionally organized and sanctioned by the USATF; we will also market this race through numerous channels including the following: - The race will be posted on the “Seabrook Old Home Days” Calendar which will be distributed to every home in Seabrook, (population approx. 8,000) - The race will be posted on our website and our Facebook page and on various websites such as “Cool Running” and Active.com” - The race will be advertised at more than 20 races and other events hosted by “3C Race Productions”, our race production company - The race will be advertised in businesses, gyms and running clubs in Seabrook and in the surrounding seacoast area. With your help we can make this race a great success. We would be very grateful if you would consider helping us in our efforts by becoming a race sponsor. We are a 501c3 community based volunteer organization, whose goal is to build a running, walking and biking trail along the old railroad corridor in Seabrook, NH. The trail will provide families and individuals with a safe and pleasant place to exercise. This is a resource which is greatly needed in our town, and it will help to promote the health and safety of our citizens, in addition to enhancing the community in Seabrook.
